“Light of the World”-My first novel is still in the works, but on the shelf, as I pursue some other, more time sensitive options. “Light” will one day be published, but I am not sure if it will be within the next year or the next ten years.
“Laymen’s Guide to Romans”-I have begun formatting a commentary that I wrote three years ago for my old website for publication as an ebook. Links will be posted here once available. This relatively short book should be completed within the next 2-4 months.
UPDATE: This book is fully formatted and is in the review and editing stage as of August 1, 2016. I am giving a preliminary release date of November 1, 2016, but this is subject to change.
“Power of One”-I have received the permissions I need to begin working on this book and would like to share the premise with you. During the 2015 football season in my hometown of Appomattox, VA, the community was wracked with a series of tragedies and deaths of high-school students in Appomattox County. Suicides, car wrecks, and homicides prematurely ended the lives of six members of the community, turning the community on its head. All the while, the Appomattox County High School Raiders football team continued to win, posting the first undefeated regular season in 49 years. The community rallied around the team showed more interest in the team than it has in recent memory. The rallying cry of the football team all season was “Power of One,” and the community at large bought into the concept, and unifying behind the team brought much healing to the county, as the team went on to go 15-0, winning the Virginia High School League’s 2A State Championship.
I have begun interviews with concerned parties, including local business leaders, media, and the team’s coaching staff. I hope to publish this book through traditional self-publishing by the end of the year.
UPDATE: I have begun composition on this book. I am currently behind schedule for my targeted release date of December 10, 2016, but I hope to catch up in the coming weeks and make it to my editor only slightly behind schedule.
“Stockholm Syndrome“-This is a fictional novel about a young man from the American Mid-West who becomes burdened by his attempt to chase his dreams and is forced to move back in with his widowed father. His desire to escape his hometown of Stockholm (and subsequently becoming mired in everyday life in the dying rural community) leads to other folks in town saying that he is a victim of “Stockholm Syndrome,” the colloquial term given to those who swear they will leave the tiny town but never do.
This book is currently in the outlining process, and I hope to release it by the summer of 2017.
